Saudi Exit Re-Entry Visa 2026: Check Validity on Muqeem or Absher, Fines and Huroob
Muqeem lets you check from outside the Kingdom with no Absher account, which matters a great deal if your visa is running out while you are away.
Updated August 18, 2026
An exit re-entry visa is the document most likely to catch people out, because the risk window opens precisely when you are least able to do anything about it: after you have already left the country.
Checking validity from inside Saudi Arabia
Use your personal Absher account. It confirms whether the visa is single or multiple entry, its issue and expiry dates, and its current status.

Fines if the visa expires before you depart
If your exit re-entry visa expires before you leave Saudi Arabia and you do not cancel it in time, the passport office imposes an escalating fine.
- First offence: SAR 1,000
- Second offence: SAR 2,000
- Third offence: SAR 3,000
If the visa expires while you are outside the Kingdom
This rule changed, and the current position is considerably better than the one most people still remember. Jawazat removed the automatic three-year re-entry ban for workers whose exit re-entry visa expired while they were outside Saudi Arabia, effective 16 January 2024. You will need a new work or entry visa to return, but a clean visa expiry no longer carries an automatic ban.
Huroob (absconding) status
Return is possible provided you left legally, had no active labour disputes, and were not reported as absconding. A Huroob report changes the position materially, and it is worth confirming your status before travelling rather than discovering it at the airport. Note that you cannot return under the same Iqama or the same employer once the visa has lapsed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check my Saudi exit re-entry visa validity?
Use your personal Absher account, or the public Muqeem visa-validity portal. Both confirm whether the visa is single or multiple entry, its issue and expiry dates, and its status. Muqeem requires no Absher account and works from outside Saudi Arabia.
Can I check my exit re-entry visa from outside Saudi Arabia?
Yes. The public Muqeem visa-validity portal works from anywhere and needs no Absher account, which makes it the practical option once you have already travelled.
What is the fine if my exit re-entry visa expires before I leave?
The passport office imposes SAR 1,000 for a first offence, SAR 2,000 for a second, and SAR 3,000 for a third, if the visa expires before departure and is not cancelled in time.
Is there still a 3-year ban if my exit re-entry visa expires while I am abroad?
No. Jawazat removed the automatic three-year re-entry ban effective 16 January 2024. You will need a new work or entry visa to return, but a clean visa expiry no longer triggers an automatic ban.
Can I return to Saudi Arabia if I have Huroob status?
Return generally requires that you left legally, had no active labour disputes, and were not reported as absconding. A Huroob report changes the position significantly, so confirm your status before travelling and take advice on your specific case.
