How to Check Iqama Expiry Date and Validity in Saudi Arabia (2026): With or Without Absher
Four official ways to check your Iqama validity, including two that need no Absher account, plus the renewal deadline most people miss by a matter of days.
Updated August 18, 2026
Your Iqama is the document everything else in Saudi Arabia hangs off. If it lapses, the consequences are immediate and practical rather than abstract: banking stops working, mobile services stop working, and government transactions stop working. Here are the official ways to check your expiry date, and how to stop needing to check at all.
Method 1: Absher
- Open the Absher app and sign in.
- Tap My Services.
- Open Profile.
- Tap My Iqama to see your expiry date and residency details.
Method 2: Tawakkalna
Open Tawakkalna and log in. Your digital Iqama appears on the home screen, showing the expiry date along with your profession and sponsor.
Method 3: The MHRSD portal (no Absher needed)
- Go to the official Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development website.
- Enter your Iqama number.
- Enter your date of birth, in either Gregorian or Hijri format.
- Your Iqama expiry date and residency status are displayed.
Method 4: Muqeem or your employer
If you cannot access Absher, you can check through Muqeem, through your employer's HR records, or by asking your HR team to confirm the expiry date through an authorised company portal.
Iqama penalties: what an expired Iqama actually blocks
The consequences of an expired Iqama are not administrative footnotes. They arrive immediately and they compound.
- Banking services and transactions stop working
- Mobile and telecom services are suspended
- Government transactions across portals are blocked
- Escalating financial penalties apply the longer it is left
Because renewal is the sponsor’s responsibility in most employment arrangements, it is worth checking your own validity independently rather than assuming it has been handled. The methods above take under a minute each.
The better approach: stop checking manually
Every method above requires you to remember to look. That is the actual failure point, and it is why people miss renewals by days rather than months. The fix is to record the expiry date once and let something else watch the calendar.
Stop checking manually
Get warned 90 days before it expires
ICEProof keeps your documents encrypted on your phone, tracks every expiry date, and alerts your trusted contacts with your location in one tap. It works offline, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
- Alerts at 90, 60 and 30 days
- AES-256 encryption on device
- Face ID, Touch ID and PIN lock
- Contacts need no app installed
